AG (Mentally impaired people are NOT worthless)

"Mentally impaired people are worthless, and cannot function like "regular" people."

People who are mentally impaired are most definitely NOT worthless.  Even though mentally impaired people may act differently than you, they may be just as smart, or have unique talents that make them special.  In fact, mentally impaired people are more similar to you than they are different.  They have their own opinions, feelings and personalities.  People who are not accepting of mentally impaired people, are missing out, in my opinion.  You never know, if you get to know a mentally impaired person, you might find out that they are hilarious, kind, caring, and they may even become your best friend!  Because of how many stereotypes there are about mentally impaired people, I think that some of them may become discouraged, think that they are worthless, and therefore feel that they cannot get a job.  If more people today encouraged mentally disabled people, they might feel wanted, and more motivated to get a job.
In the statement, it says "regular people."  What is the meant by "regular people?"  In my opinion, everyone is unique, different, and has their own personalities.  Therefore, I think that no one should be considered regular, and that everyone should be thought of as a different person.  For these reasons, I completely disagree with the statement, "mentally impaired people are worthless, and cannot function like "regular people."
