People that are poor should get a job rather that relying on friends, family, or church to help.

     My opinion on this statement is that I think people who are poor should definitely try their best to get a job. I also think that if a poor person is really in need of help that they should be able to depend on these resources for help sometimes. Basically, I think that as long as this person is trying their best to get out of this difficult situation, then it's okay for them to ask for help sometimes.

     Think of a poor person who isn't doing anything to try and help his or herself out of their situation or problem(whatever it may be). If this person is continually asking and receiving money or shelter from their friends, family, or their church but isn't planning to get back on their feet at some point, then it isn't really fair to those sources who keep sending out money or shelter. On the other hand, if a poor person is trying their best to get out of their problem but is in need of a little money or a place to stay until they can find a job, or a way to get money, then I think it's completely okay to ask for assistance.
